Title: RENEGOTIATING THE SOCIAL CONTRACT: CLOSING REMARKS
Accession Number: 00361079
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: Common issues and trends in ridesharing discussions are pointed out. Ridesharing is seen as a pooling of various modes namely, car, van and buspooling. Attitudes about mobility and methods of delivering it are a concern, as are the goals of ridesharing. The flexibility of the ridesharing mode and the fluidity of the institutional delivery system are noted. Questions relating to the changing relationships between provider, financier, user, and regulator are raised. The question of skills and personnel training is also considered.
