Title: PROJECTED POTENTIAL PIGGYBACK ENERGY SAVINGS THROUGH THE YEAR 2000
Accession Number: 00342117
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: Recent research concerning the energy advantage of using piggyback traffic (trailer-flatcar/container-on-flatcar) versus trucks is described and evaluated, and the potential energy savings that may result from capitalizing on this advantage are projected to the year 2000. Projections are based on an approximation of this energy advantage and scenarios of low, medium and high levels of growth in piggyback traffic at the Center for Transportation Research, Argonne National Laboratory.
