Title: RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IN NEW JERSEY
Accession Number: 00335144
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: Changes are suggested to the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Property Acquisition Act of 1970 in the following areas: eligibility requirements; increasing payments to a level consistent with today's costs; resorting responsibilities for relocation payment between public and private partners in joint projects; and integrating relocation rental assistance with Section 8 rental assistance. The need to extend benefits to those displaced through all publicly-assisted programs is discussed. Suggestions are made for the adoption of certain provisions of S.1108 that would eliminate inequities in eligibility requirements. New Jersey's experience in the area of relocation assistance payments is described.
