Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: This paper reports on part of the coordinated Minitram research program in the United Kingdom being carried out by various groups under the direction of the Transport and Road Research Laboratory. The section of work discussed relates to tests carried out in full-scale simulations of passenger behaviour on vehicles and stations to determine the effects on dwell and clearance times of changes in station and vehicle configuration, door sizes and opening times, and directional barriers. The tests were carried out with passengers stratified into commuters, noncommuters, and handicapped populations.
