Abstract: SEISMIC SURVEYS FOR HIGHWAY LOCATION, DESIGN, ESTIMATE AND CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED SINCE 1948. SINCE 1956, TWO COMPLETE PARTIES HAVE BEEN CONTINUOUSLY ENGAGED IN THESE OPERATIONS THROUGHOUT EACH YEAR, WINTER AND SUMMER. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES THE METHODS AND EQUIPMENT USED IN PERFORMING SEISMIC SURVEYS FOR HIGHWAY ENGINEERING PURPOSES.
