THE FREQUENCY OF INTERCHANGES, SERVICE AREAS AND BARRIER TOLL STATIONS ON THE WESTERLY 54 MILES OF THE CONNECTICUT TURNPIKE, TOGETHER WITH HIGH VOLUMES OF MIXED TRAFFIC, INDICATED THE NEED FOR CONTINUOUS HIGHWAY ILLUMINATION. FORTY-SEVEN MILES OF MERCURY VAPOR AND 7 MILES OF FLUORESCENT LIGHTING WILL BE USED. EAST OF BRANFORD, LIGHTING WILL BE PROVIDED ONLY FOR TOLL PLAZAS, APPROACHES TO SERVICE AREAS AND SELECTED INTERCHANGES. /ARTICLE/
