Abstract:

PICTURES OF TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS WERE TAKEN AT 2 SECOND INTERVALS WITH A 35 MM CAMERA FROM A BLIMP. COLOR MOTION PICTURES WERE TAKEN WITH A 16 MM CAMERA. TAKEN FROM 2000 TO 3000 FT UP, THESE FILMS RECORD TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS A HALF MILE IN EITHER DIRECTION. LARGER FILM IS NECESSARY FOR DISTANCES LARGER THAN A HALF MILE. A COMMON AERIAL CAMERA USING 9 X 9 IN. FILM CAN THEN BE USED. HIGH ALTITUDE HAZE, SHADOWS OF BUILDINGS, TREES, AND THE MOVEMENT OF THE BLIMP ARE DIFFICULTIES WHICH, IT IS BELIEVED, ARE OVERSHADOWED BY THE COMPLETE AND ACCURATE RECORD OF ALL THAT HAPPENS WITHIN THE AREA STUDIED. /AUTHOR/
