Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: The resource papers and workshop papers that were the product of the conference held in February 1981 in Williamsburg, Virginia are presented. The resource papers covered hazardous materials transportation regulation, training of personnel involved in such transport, emergency response, civil liability and social regulation, criminal sanctions and regulation of corporate behavior, interjurisdictional conflicts, risk assessment, regulations that inhibit research, fostering innovation, and application of automated data ball technology to regulation. Six workshops produced six papers on the following topics: regulation, training, emergency response, legal aspects, risk assessment; and technology development and innovation. Appendixes provide information on conference attendees and biographical data on the Steering Committee to Develop a National Strategy for the Transportation of Hazardous Wastes in the 1980's.
