Title: MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT IN THE ENLIGHTENED 1980S
Accession Number: 00372315
Record Type: Component
Digital Copy: Abstract: Problems in the development of maintenance management systems which may need future research are identified and discussed. There is a need for the development of quantitative relationships between measured quality of service achieved and the resources expended. Precise quantity standards must also be developed. Maintenance productivity may be the most significant area needing improvement. To achieve improved productivity, attention must be paid to maintenance management subsystems which include manpower management, equipment management, materials management, and budget management. Also, maintenance management systems could expand and interface with other management areas such as bridge maintenance, pavement management, and personnel management.
