Abstract: This circular presents 11 research problem statements in the fields of cement and concrete, mineral aggregate, and general maintenance from the Concrete Division of the Department of Materials and Construction, Highway Research Board. The statements are concerned with the following aspects of concrete: durability, alkali reactive carbonate rocks in portland cement concrete, calcium chloride in prestressed concrete, concrete curing, admixtures, air entrainment, hydration, expansive cement, and coordination of basic research.
