Abstract:

In this article, the authors imagine themselves in the year 2070 looking back on the big events that shaped roadway safety in the United States. Their predictions include a mixed fleet of automated and human driver-required vehicles, automated traffic law enforcement, digital infrastructure, driver monitoring, gamification, and driving privileges earned through safe driving.
