It discusses the efforts of the National Academies and the Transportation Research Board to address issues such as racial disparity, inclusivity, equity, and diversity. Immediate actions being taken include the Office of Human Resources sponsoring gatherings to provide direct support to National Academies Black and African-American staff; deploying mandatory diversity and inclusion training for senior managers; accelerating implementation of a series of diversity and inclusion training modules for all staff; and supporting revitalization of the grassroots working group on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
