Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: Some of the major challenges faced by universities in developing transportation programs are discussed and the history of one program's response to these challenges is traced. Current challenges, such as the increasing number of foreign students in transportation programs, the shifting emphasis in management aspects, and the inclusion of women in technical programs, are also discussed as well as problems that are now waiting on the horizon, such as declining graduate enrollments.
