Title:

Measuring Success at Raleigh–Durham International Airport

Accession Number:

01735355

Record Type:

Monograph

Abstract:

As an East Coast technology hub, Raleigh, North Carolina, is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States. Leaders at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) used the knowledge gained from two reports by TRB's Airport Cooperative Research Program, ACRP Report 19: Developing an Airport Performance Measurement System and ACRP Report 19A: Resource Guide to Airport Performance Indicators to develop a draft Balanced Scorecard. The Scorecard was then refined, approved, and implemented. This publication summarizes how RDU now better connects its strategic goals to its practices, tracks the right metrics, and develops baseline data for self-performance measurements, as well as for measuring performance against peer airports.
