Title: COMPARISON OF LEQ(H) AND LDN AS DESCRIPTORS OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC NOISE
Accession Number: 00335168
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: A comparison is made between the hourly equivalent sound level (Leq(h)) and the day-night sound level (Ldn) as descriptors of highway traffic noise. The comparison is based on the criteria used by the Environmental Protection Agency to select Ldn as an environmental noise descriptor. Three different procedures are presented that indicate how Ldn can be computed if certain traffic data are known. Comparisons are discussed that used two sites at which 24-h field measurements were made. (Author)
