Evaluation and calibration were accomplished by comparing simulation results with actual field data of an existing facility. The testing and calibration process revealed that the programs are reliable and can be effectively used for simulating either a hypothetical or an existing situation with reasonable accuracy after some necessary adjustments have been made to reflect local conditions. After the calibration stage, the programs were quite useful in evaluating the future geometric and control alternatives of the planned facility. In addition to the above results, the difficulties encountered in using the FREQ6 programs and suggestions for their resolution are enumerated. Finally, suggestions for future improvements to the programs are proposed. (Author)
