Record URL: Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: This brief article describes the use of knowledge books developed based on the Method of Analysis and Structuring Knowledge (MASK) system at the Minnesota Department of Transportation. These knowledge books are designed to share knowledge from key subject-area experts with many years of experience. This ensures that deep institutional expertise does not disappear upon retirement of these technical experts. So far, Minnesota DOT’s knowledge books have been developed in the subject areas of concrete and bituminous paving and mix designs and steel bridge construction.
