In September 2019, the Transportation Research Board (TRB) will host the 6th International Conference on Women’s Issues in Transportation (WIiT). Building on the themes explored in the first conference in 1978 and subsequent meetings, the 2019 WIiT will bring scholars and practitioners together at the Beckman Center in Irvine, California, to examine all aspects of women’s experiences in travel and transportation. Picking up themes of previous WIiTs— especially the fourth conference, held in Irvine in 2009—the 2019 conference is organized around an evaluative framework of three lenses: insights, inclusion, and influence.
