Abstract:

Blockchain has the potential to secure and make more transparent the transactions of information between parties. Nowadays, transportation data are shared across different entities using heterogeneous mediums, from paper collected data to smartphone. Most of the transportation data are stored in central servers that are sensible to hacks or in some cases shady companies share people's mobility data to unwanted third parties. A blockchain framework for Smart Mobility Data is presented for addressing the privacy, security, management, and scalability challenges associated with transportation data. Each participant shares their encrypted data to the blockchain network and can make information transactions with other participants as long as both party agrees to the transaction rules issued by the owner of the data. They may decide to sell their info whenever possible, so in the blockchain exists nodes who act as a brokers with the objective of managing nodes accounts in order to sell or buy information with the best prices on the blockchain. Data ownership, transparency, auditability and access control are the core principles of the proposed blockchain for smart mobility data
