Abstract:

In order to improve the security and stability of urban rail transit network (URTN) in China, the static and dynamic robustness of URTN were studied based on graph theory and complex network theory. This paper constructed weighted topological structures of URTN in the major cities of China and measured the robustness performance of URTN from the review of multiple static indexes, as well as simulated network changes under the destruction of stations. Results show that the robust performance of the large-scale URTN is not necessarily strong; URTN with agglomeration effect possesses better connectivity and robustness; failures of critical stations will lead to a sharp decline of network efficiency even though the paralysis of whole network; URTN of Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai possess better comprehensive robust performance.
