Title: Scenario-based Multistage Stochastic Model for Infrastructure Planning for One-way Electric Car Sharing
Accession Number: 01658379
Record Type: Component
Abstract: The authors propose a multistage stochastic model to deploy a one-way Electric Vehicle (EV) sharing system that serves an urban area. Under this framework, long-term charging station locations, real-time fleet operations and charging decisions are holistically optimized, incorporating a spatial-temporal demand uncertainty. To overcome the tractability issue of the multistage nature, the authors propose an accelerating solution algorithm via a two-stage approximation and scenario reduction. The performance of the model is shown through hypothetical numerical tests and meaningful insights are delivered through a case study in New York City.
