Abstract:

This issue contains eleven papers concerning travel behavior and values. Specific topics covered are as follows: measuring stability of mode choice behavior; schedule consistency for daily activity chains; mediation effects of income on travel mode choice; and a choice model of time use and goods consumption. Additional topics include activity duration analysis for recurrent events, competing risks, and multiple states; design factors affecting probability of nontrading and precision of value-of-time estimates; two-level, dynamic, week-long work episode scheduling model; and declining car ownership of millennial households in Washington state. Further topics include new monetary valuations of travel time, quality of travel, and safety in Singapore; investigation of heterogeneity in vehicle ownership and usage for the millennial generation; and activity cancellation and rescheduling by stressed households.
