Abstract:
This issue contains 21 papers concerned with information technology, geospatial information, and advanced computing. Specific topics addressed in this issue include the following: pavement monitoring using synthetic aperture radar-based satellite remote sensing; detection of on-street parking occupancy; detection of crack growth in asphalt pavement through use of infrared imaging; a data fusion technique for decision making with big data; impacts of communication loss on signal performance; a data processing framework for development of driving cycles; and an ecodriving support platform based on internet+. Other topics covered in this issue include: a trajectory segmentation map-matching approach for large-scale, high-resolution GPS data; calculation of latency of GPS probe data; a data-based sorting algorithm for variable message sign location; traffic congestion pattern classification; video tracking for automated vehicle turning movement counts; automated vehicle recognition; a hidden Markov approach to dynamically modeling car ownership behavior; and relative positioning accuracy in vehicle-to-vehicle safety. In addition, the issue covers includes papers on: cooperative collision avoidance model for connected vehicles; short-term traffic flow forecasting for urban roads; detection of imminent lane change maneuvers in connected vehicle environments; evaluation of the promotion of innovative mobility options; multicontextual machine-learning approach to modeling traffic impact of urban highway work zones; and a vehicle trajectory analysis system.
