Abstract:

The facility layout problem in a logistics park incorporates a rational placement of interacting functional areas to efficiently and effectively organize, manage, and ship goods. Different from the conventional research that generally assumed that the target areas were rectangular, the authors propose a novel set partitioning model on facility layout problem in non-rectangular logistics parks based on the raster data structure. To obtain the actual haul route and distance between functional areas, vectorization is introduced to extract the topological relationship from the raster layout diagrams. Furthermore, combining with the slicing tree structure, a variable neighborhood search algorithm is developed. Finally, applying the method to planning a logistics park, the authors derive several competitive layout schemes. The results verify the feasibility of the model and algorithm.
