Abstract:

THE PROBLEM OF DECISION-MAKING IN HIGHWAY PLANNING IS DISCUSSED. POSTON'S CONCEPT THAT A COMMUNITY MUST BE DEALT WITH AS AN INTEGRATED WHOLE RATHER THAN SEGMENT BY SEGMENT IS ANALYZED. APPROACHES TO THE STUDY OF COMMUNITY PROBLEMS IN CONNECTION WITH A HIGHWAY CAUSING RELOCATION OF HUMANS IS ANALYZED. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THERE IS A RELATION BETWEEN PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND MENTAL HEALTH.
