Countries throughout the world are seeking ways to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury crashes into posts and luminaire supports. This presentation examines the use of breakaway systems. Breakaways for ground-mounted signs and luminaries can significantly decrease the severity of these accidents and resulting fatalities.
