Title:
Pavement Management 2011, Volume 2
Accession Number:
01353811
Abstract:
This issue contains 16 papers concerned with the design of flexible and rigid pavements. Specific topics discussed with regard to rigid pavements include the following: calibration of distress models from the "Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide" (MEPDG); pervious concrete pavement structural analysis; long-term concrete pavement performance; the MEPDG's enhanced integrated climatic model; concrete strength and stiffness impact on pavement performance prediction; distress mechanisms in continuously reinforced concrete pavements; model for faulting in jointed concrete pavement; and modeling of concrete slab curling. Topics discussed with regard to flexible pavements include: sensitivity analysis of the MEPDG applied to material inputs; perpetual pavement experiments; finite element model for rutting prediction; enhancing MEPDG rutting performance predictions; validation of Gaussian process surrogate models; procedure to determine convergence in Monte Carlo simulations; calibration of the MEPDG; and implementation of the MEPDG.
