The University Transportation Centers (UTC) program conducts innovative, multidisciplinary transportation research and trains and educates transportation professionals. Managed by the Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA), the program works with regional, state, and local agencies to find solutions to transportation issues affecting their communities. This article highlights many of the UTC program solutions to critical transportation problems and discusses RITA's ongoing efforts in support of the UTC program.
