Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: RECENT ADVANCES IN THE FABRICATION, ENGINEERING, AND ERECTION OF PRECAST AND PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS AND STRUCTURES ARE REVIEWED, WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE DISNEY WORLD MONORAIL IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA. SOME 7 MILES OF 6-SPAN CONTINUOUS PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BOX GIRDER SECTIONS, SUPPORTED ON PRECAST CONCRETE COLUMNS, WERE CONSTRUCTED. THE 350 GIRDERS RANGED FROM 90 TO 110 FEET, AND HALF WERE ON VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL CURVES TO RADII FROM 350 FEET UPWARD.
