Title: AGGREGATE INTERLOCK AT JOINTS IN CONCRETE PAVEMENTS
Accession Number: 00206674
Record Type: Component
Abstract: LOAD TRANSFER ACROSS JOINTS IN CONCRETE PAVEMENTS THROUGH SHEAR DEVELOPED BY INTERLOCKING AGGREGATE WAS INVESTIGATED IN THE LABORATORY BY SIMULATING THE REPETITIVE MOTION OF TANDEM TRUCK WHEELS ACROSS A JOINT. EFFECTIVENESS OF LOAD TRANSFER WAS FOUND TO DEPEND ON LOAD MAGNITUDE, NUMBER OF REPETITIONS, SLAB THICKNESS, JOINT OPENING, SUBGRADE BEARING VALUE, AND AGGREGATE ANGULARITY. A SUMMARY STATISTIC CALLED ENDURANCE INDEX IS USED TO RELATE THE SIGNIFICANT VARIABLES TO TEST PERFORMANCE. /AUTHOR/
