Abstract:

THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED OF SEVERAL PAPERS INDICATING THAT THE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE IS DECREASED WHEN WET. MOISTURE LOWERS THE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE. ONE TEST INDICATES COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF SATURATED CONCRETE TO BE 70 TO 75 PERCENT OF DRY CONCRETE. A TABLE IS PRESENTED SHOWING REDUCTION IN STRENGTH DUE TO ABSORBED MOISTURE.
