Abstract: A FUNDAMENTAL FIGURE IS A QUADRILATERAL OR A CENTRAL-POINT TRIANGLE WHICH FORMS THE BASIS OF THE PROBLEM OF ADJUSTMENT IN TRILATERATION. ANY TRILATERATION MAY BE PLANNED, ANALYZED AND ADJUSTED IN FUNDAMENTAL FIGURES. AREA EQUATIONS ARE USED FOR THE FORMATION OF THE CONDITION EQUATIONS IN THE LEAST SQUARES ADJUSTMENT OF THE SIDES OF THE TRIANGLES OF FUNDAMENTAL FIGURES. EVALUATION OF THE COEFFICIENTS OF THE ERROR EQUATION OR CORRECTION EQUATION IS THE FIRST TASK IN THE ADJUSTMENT AND CAN BE DONE SYSTEMATICALLY AS SHOWN.
