Abstract:

A MODEL DM-20 ELECTROTAPE DISTANCE-MEASURING UNIT WAS DEVELOPED AND ANALYZED TO PROVIDE CHEAPER AND MORE ACCURATE BASIC AND SUPPLEMENTAL CONTROL FOR AERIAL SURVEYS. THE INSTRUMENT IS CONSTRUCTED FOR ROUGH USE, WILL OPERATE UNDER EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS, IS SIMPLE TO OPERATE, AND IS RELATIVELY FREE FROM MAINTENANCE. THE INSTRUMENT WILL MEASURE DISTANCE FROM 150 FEET TO MANY MILES.
