Abstract:

The papers in this issue are concerned with various aspects of nanotechnology in cement and concrete. Among the topics discussed are the effects of microsilica and nanosilica in concrete, the performance of cement systems with nano-SiO2, nanoindentation of alkali-activated fly ash, the addition of anatase TiO2 nanoparticles to cement-based materials, the seeding effect of nano-CaCO3 on the hydration of tricalcium silicate, cement paste microstructure evolution, atomic force microscopy examinations of mortar, and atomic force microscopy to measure the nanoscale mechanical properties of cement pastes.
