Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to provide a theoretical framework for future commercial vehicle user-charging using real-time vehicle weight and configuration information. The methodology proposed in this study employs highway cost allocation approaches for development of an Axle-Load toll structure. A theoretical case study, based on information from Texas State Highway 130, is performed to demonstrate the proposed method.
