This article briefly presents highlights from a survey conducted between February and June 2008 that addressed bridge preservation and management practices in each state. The survey was conducted by Mead and Hunt, Inc., a multidisciplinary consulting firm, in cooperation with the Historic Bridge Alliance, to inform the national dialogue about historic bridge preservation and to encourage continued management of significant structures.
