Abstract:

This synthesis study is intended to inform airport operators about factors affecting safe winter operations and the prevention of runway incursions by airport snow removal equipment operators. The information contained in this report can be of value to airport operators in their efforts to provide a safer operating environment when engaged in snow and ice removal operations during normal and low visibility conditions. Information used in this study was acquired through a review of the literature and interviews with airport operators and industry experts.
