Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: This presentation is concerned with expansion of and revenue control at airport parking facilities. Parking garages as close as possible to the passenger terminals and serving both short and long-term parking are seen as the answer to increased parking demand. Since very little revenue loss stems from employee dishonesty (and that can be minimized through screening during hiring and frequent auditing), the emphasis has been on developing electronic cash register and ticketing system. However, no system yet is foolproof, and malfunctions and other complications could cancel out any reduction in revenue losses, so benefits and costs should be weighed before a system is installed. Rather than design a single system for all airports, equipment manufacturers should develop control system components which can be combined for specific situations.
