Accession Number: 01000209
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: This conference presentation discusses smart growth in the Puget Sound region. Attention is focused on land use issues in the I-405 corridor, which is about 30 miles long and has about one-half million people living adjacent to it, and on the 405 program, a demonstration program for reinvention of the National Environmental Policy Act process. One of the key things that must be kept in mind is the Endangered Species Act. The issue is how to address development in urban areas while improving the habitat for salmon and other threatened species.
