The performance of these flexible pavements was investigated in the field by using nondestructive dynamic deflection measurements, and the in situ pavement moduli were calculated. The data presented show that the in situ pavement moduli and other deflection parameters can accurately characterize pavement conditions. The field specimens were evaluated in the laboratory under controlled conditions, and the dynamic moduli, tensile strength, and fatigue life were determined. Based on the results of laboratory data and fatigue life simulation, the structural equivalency of asphaltic concrete surface and base course layers was also determined.
