Title: DYNAMIC LOAD TESTS IN BRIDGE MANAGEMENT
Accession Number: 00964802
Record Type: Component
Availability: N/AFind a library where document is available Abstract: The potential application of dynamic test results in the bridge management process is considered. The classification of the bridge dynamic tests, based on the method of vibration excitation, is proposed and four main types of tests are distinguished: excitation by traffic, by special vehicles, by force-generating devices, and by means of special techniques. All the considered testing methods are illustrated by examples of the tests performed by the authors. Special attention is paid to the possibilities of damage detection by means of monitoring the bridge dynamic parameters. Advantages and disadvantages of the presented testing methods are discussed taking into account their usefulness in computer-based bridge management systems.
