Title: ANTI-GLARE DEVICE USING PHOTOCHROMIC LAYER IN FOCAL PLANE
Accession Number: 00748776
Record Type: Monograph
Availability: National Technical Information Service 5301 Shawnee Road Abstract: This project focused on the development of a prototype photochromic system suitable for use as a component in an automotive anti-glare rearview mirror. A system analysis was conducted to define the sensitivity requirements given regulatory factors (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Standard 108), environmental parameters (solar spectrum), ergonomic factors (spectral sensitivity of the eye) and technical constraints (spectral response of candidate photoconductors). A theoretical analysis was generated and a few prototype photochromic systems were constructed for laboratory testing.
Supplemental Notes: This ITS-IDEA project was conducted by Quantics, Incorporated, San Diego, California. The ITS-IDEA program is jointly sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Federal Railroad Administration.
