Title: INTEGRATING ELECTRONIC FAREBOXES WITH OTHER ON-BOARD EQUIPMENT
Accession Number: 00731196
Record Type: Monograph
Availability: National Technical Information Service 5301 Shawnee Road Abstract: This Innovations Deserving Exploratory Analysis (IDEA) project developed design specifications for direct links between fareboxes and three other on-board electronic devices, and for linking fareboxes to a J1708 Vehicle Area Network. Also, methods to model passenger volumes using farebox data enhanced by a location stamp were developed and successfully tested. These methods, which are capable of providing highly detailed estimates of passenger activity free of sampling error, are an example of what can be done with integrated farebox data.
