Abstract:

The 10th Annual Southeastern States Equipment Managers meeting was held April 15-18 at Frankfort, Kentucky. Twelve states were represented with 23 attendees. Arkansas was the only state not attending due to a freeze in travel funds. Presenters included both industry representatives and representatives from the attending states. This report presents a brief summary of the discussion topics and information reported during the meeting. Discussion topics included the following: alternate fuel vehicles; annual inspection of aerial trucks; contractor operated warehouses; flat rate standards for heavy equipment; new product evaluation; 800 MHz communications system; standard vehicle colors; vehicle buy-back; equipment utilization; comparison of fleet operations; and petroleum product specification comparison.
