Abstract:

This article discusses the implementation of the European Committee for Normalization (CEN) international test standards for safety barriers, crash cushions, and, in a general way, road restraint systems in the European states. The European Economic Community (EEC) member states adopted the Construction Products Directive in December 1988. The essential requirements provide the basis for the preparation of harmonized standards at the European level for construction products.
