Title: DEVELOPMENT OF MAINTENANCE-FREE HIGHWAY SAFETY APPURTENANCES
Accession Number: 00637654
Record Type: Monograph
Abstract: This report describes a series of laboratory tests of high molecular weight/high density polyethylene (HMW HDPE) tubes for suitability in use as highway safety appurtenances, and concludes that they are both effective and reusable. The report suggests that impact attenuation devices made of the polymer are potentially maintenance free, and it recommends further design fabrication and testing of such devices.
