Abstract:

The history of road impact fees in Broward County is briefly reviewed, and the questions are considered: who pays and when? and how much do they pay? Revenues and spending of road impact fees is discussed, as well as the issue of construction in lieu of fees. The monitoring and enforcement of road impact fees are also discussed. The two requirements that the county places on new developments at the platting stage are described. The outstanding features of Broward County's road impact fee are listed.
