Title: RESEARCH ACTIVITIES IN WICK DRAINS
Accession Number: 00459539
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: A research contract has been initiated to conduct analytical and laboratory studies to facilitate the development of an engineering manual of practice containing comprehensive guidelines for the design and installation of wick drains. The major objectives of the laboratory research study are (1) to investigate the key parameters that affect wick drain performance, and (2) to develop new and/or adapt standard laboratory test procedures that can be used to measure selected drain characteristics. Key parameters and uncertainities associated with their determination are identified and discussed. The results of the laboratory program will be evaluated and used to confirm and/or enhance the procedures given in the technical manual.
