Title: WICK DRAIN SELECTION AND DESIGN
Accession Number: 00459535
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: To ensure predictable performance of a given installation, proper wick selection is very important. The second key to success is a reasonable prediction of the coefficient of consolidation of the soft foundation material to be consolidated. In addition to proper selection, proper spacing, and correct installation, each project should include construction controls on rate of loading, and a detailed instrumentation monitoring program to ensure stability during critical loading periods. This paper also gives details of prefabricated wick drains and the design of such drains.
