Title: Low PG Determination of Neat Binders: A Comparison Between AASHTO Procedure and Time Temperature Superposition Approach
Accession Number: 01704508
Record Type: Component
Abstract: This paper examines the effect of temperature on cracking in flexible pavements while considering different climates. Thermal cracking occurs independently of traffic loading and depends on the properties of the asphalt binder as well as the climatic condition. The authors propose a new method to develop criteria for low temperature cracking and compare it with a standard AASHTO procedure, finding that their method provides an increase in accuracy, which can help in selecting the appropriate asphalt binder for different geographical locations.
